The pastries, with their golden dough and filled with meat, chicken or mashed potatoes and cheese (PICK 2). Cachapa, a kind of soft and sweet corn pancake, served with melted cheese. And of course, tequeños, cheese sticks wrapped in wheat flour dough, fried until crispy and accompanied by a special sauce. A Venezuelan "mandoca" is a type of fried dough made from corn flour and sweet plantain. The dough is formed into cylindrical shapes and deep fried until golden brown. Mandocas are often served as a breakfast or snack food and can be enjoyed on their own or with accompaniments such as cheese, crema de leche, or dulce de leche.
